To block someone on Roblox, open their profile, select the three dots in the profile details section, and choose Block User. To unblock an account, open Settings, then Privacy & content maturity, then Blocked users. Choose Unblock beside the correct user and select Save. These are Roblox's own controls; you do not need a tracker or browser extension.

Before selecting a profile, check the @username. Two people can share a display name, so a familiar nickname or avatar is not enough to identify the account. Our guide to Roblox usernames, display names and user IDs explains the distinction.

Block the correct profile on the website or mobile app

Roblox's blocking instructions give the same profile route for browser and mobile users:

  1. Open the person's Roblox profile.
  2. Check the account's @username before continuing.
  3. Open the three-dot menu in the upper-right of the profile details section.
  4. Select Block User.

If you are already playing on a computer, Roblox also documents blocking through the player list or through the Esc menu's People tab. Select the relevant player and the block control, then confirm when prompted. If the player list is unavailable on a small screen, use the profile route.

Suppose two players both use the display name Builder. One is your friend and the other is sending unwanted messages. Open the profile connected to the actual message or player-list entry, then check its @username. Searching Builder and blocking the first result could affect an unrelated person.

What the block changes

Roblox says the other user receives no block notification. Blocking ends the friend or follower relationship between the accounts and prevents direct contact such as messages, friend requests and experience or party invitations.

Those documented effects are the useful expectation. Do not treat blocking as a promise that the person's public account disappears from every surface. This guide also does not use a missing profile, hidden status or failed message as a test for whether someone else blocked you.

If you are trying to understand a relationship that already disappeared, that is a different question. Checking who unfriended you requires evidence of an earlier relationship; the action described here changes your own block list.

Find your blocked users and unblock one

Use the account where you originally blocked the person. On a shared device, check that you have not opened a sibling's or alternate account.

  1. Sign in to Roblox and open account Settings. Roblox documents the gear icon for the browser and More for mobile apps.
  2. Select Privacy & content maturity.
  3. Open Blocked users.
  4. Find the correct account and select Unblock beside it.
  5. Select Save.

This is the current route in Roblox's unblocking help page. An older tutorial that tells you only to scroll to the bottom of a Privacy tab may show an earlier layout.

Afterward, inspect the relationship shown on the person's profile if you want to reconnect. Keep the unblock action and any later friend request as separate decisions. Removing a block is not evidence that both people want to resume contact.

If the expected account is absent from your blocked users list, confirm the signed-in account and the person's current @username before changing anything else. A failed conversation alone does not establish that you have blocked them.

When a parent blocked the account

A parent-imposed block follows a different flow. Roblox says a child cannot directly unblock a user their parent blocked. The child can select Unblock and follow the on-screen steps to send a request to the parent.

For parents managing a child's friend, Roblox documents Settings, Parental Controls, then Friends and Manage. The three-dot menu beside the relevant friend provides the block action. Read the confirmation for the selected account before applying it.

If the child reaches a parent request rather than an ordinary unblock result, follow that request flow. Reinstalling Roblox or switching browsers is not a substitute for the parent's decision. The parental monitoring guide covers linking a parent account and reviewing the wider controls.

Report the specific conduct when someone breaks the rules

Blocking manages contact. Reporting gives Roblox information about a possible rule violation. If the problem concerns a message or something that happened inside an experience, report that specific content or incident using Report Abuse.

Roblox's reporting guidance explains why context matters: a profile-only report does not show moderators what was said or done elsewhere. A clear description of the actual incident is more useful than repeatedly reporting an account name.

You can leave the experience if you need to stop the interaction immediately. There is no need to keep a conversation going to test whether the block worked, or to contact the person from another account.

If the control itself will not work

Write down what fails: the menu will not open, Block User is unavailable, Unblock produces a parent request, or Save returns an error. Those are different problems.

For a browser button that does nothing, consult Roblox's general website troubleshooting. If you contact support, give the affected page, device, operating system, exact error and steps taken. Crop unrelated personal details from screenshots.

Check the blocked users list again after saving before deciding that the change failed. Use the visible result on your own account as your check, rather than asking another person to send messages or relying on a public tracker.
