Roblox player tracker: how to track a player

To track a Roblox player with RoTrail, install the Chrome extension, enter the player's username or profile link, and choose Watch. RoTrail saves a starting snapshot, then checks supported public fields for changes while Chrome is available. You can start with two profiles free.

This guide walks through the actual profile-watchlist controls in RoTrail 1.4.0. If you want a one-off lookup instead, compare a Roblox profile viewer with a tracker. If you want a specific game's score or playtime, you need a tool built for that game.

How to track a player in Roblox with RoTrail

1. Open the official extension listing in desktop Chrome

Use the RoTrail Chrome Web Store listing. Check the extension name and the rotrail.net website link, then choose Add to Chrome. Open Chrome's extensions menu and pin RoTrail if you want its button to remain visible.

The Free plan does not need a RoTrail account or payment card. Paid-plan sign-in is a separate step if you later upgrade. Complete the extension's eligibility prompt before starting. You never need to paste a Roblox password or session cookie into RoTrail.

2. Allow profile watching when you choose to use it

Open RoTrail. The profile feature asks for read access with a prompt labeled Watch Roblox profiles? Choose Allow if you want to use it. Choosing Hide this keeps that feature hidden. Limited-item watching asks for its own access separately.

The permission matters: RoTrail reads public profile data through proxy services. Those services receive the request, including your IP address and the profile ID. Your watchlist and recent history are stored in your browser, but that does not make the network requests invisible to their operators. The privacy policy explains this distinction.

3. Paste a username or profile link, then choose Watch

Find the input labeled Roblox username or profile link. Paste the account's current username, or copy its Roblox profile URL, then press Watch. A profile URL contains a numeric user ID. Keeping that ID attached to the monitor lets RoTrail follow the same account after a name change.

Prefer the profile link if a display name appears on several accounts. Display names are labels, not a reliable way to identify a unique player. Open the Roblox profile first and check the account's username. Our username, display-name and user-ID guide explains what each one identifies.

4. Let the starting snapshot finish

The first successful read gives the monitor something to compare against. It is not a recovered history of everything the player has done. If you add a profile after an avatar edit, that avatar becomes the starting point; RoTrail cannot reconstruct the earlier outfit from a snapshot it never saved.

Check that the profile appears in your watchlist. If it does not, verify the username or URL, the profile-read permission and your connection. Free supports two watched profiles. Repeatedly submitting more names will not increase that allowance.

5. Review later changes in the activity feed

Free targets hourly profile checks. Plus targets 30 minutes and Pro 15 minutes. Chrome alarms can run late, and a sleeping device or unavailable endpoint can postpone a useful check. RoTrail also has a Check now button, subject to your plan's daily manual-check allowance.

You do not have to keep the Roblox profile tab open. Chrome and the device still need to be available for the extension to do its work. A closed browser is not a cloud monitor. See why an extension alert may be delayed before deciding that a quiet feed means nothing changed.

What can a Roblox player tracker detect?

Read a change as a comparison, not a timestamped confession

Suppose your own profile says BuilderOne at a successful 10:00 check. At the next successful check, at 11:10, the display name is BuilderTwo. Those are example times, not a measured RoTrail test. The useful conclusion is that the returned name differed by 11:10. The edit might have happened anywhere between those observations.

If the name briefly changed to something else at 10:20 and changed back before 11:10, those two snapshots could miss it. A tracker records what it observed. It does not see every intermediate state, and a faster schedule does not remove that limit. The same reasoning applies to an avatar, bio or friend list.

Can I find what game a player is in?

If the profile itself has stopped opening under the name you saved, that is a rename rather than a privacy setting. Finding a profile after a name change covers recovering it from the numeric ID.

RoTrail is not a server finder. If your aim is to join someone, use Roblox's own profile and join options when that person makes them available. Roblox's online-status and visibility settings govern what other users can see.

A changed avatar or a new group membership does not establish that the person is online now. The online tracker guide separates profile changes from presence. Neither a browser extension nor this website can tell you a player's physical location or private messages.

Why am I getting no alerts?

Start with the watchlist: did the correct profile finish loading, and are profile checks enabled? Then look at timing. A new monitor needs a later successful observation before it has a difference to report. If your device slept through the next cycle, give Chrome time to run again.

Next, separate the feed from desktop notifications. A change may appear in the feed while a desktop notification is suppressed by your notification settings, quiet hours or the operating system. Check the extension and system settings before removing and re-adding the profile, which may discard a useful starting point.

Finally, check whether the field is supported and readable. A private inventory cannot produce an inventory comparison. An outfit that changed and reverted between checks may leave no difference. Follower counts can rise and fall without the tool knowing every individual involved. These cases require different explanations, not repeated manual checks.

Can I track Roblox players on mobile?

You can read these guides on mobile. RoTrail's installation flow is for desktop Chrome; it is not a Roblox mobile app.

Will tracking survive a username change?

The watchlist uses the numeric user ID. The visible name can change while the monitor remains attached to the same account.

Can I recover old activity after installing?

RoTrail cannot supply observations from before it began watching. Roblox's previous-username feature is a separate source for old usernames. Free retains 12 hours of recent activity; longer retention depends on the plan.

Is there a free way to try it without installing?

The RoTrail demo shows a sample feed. It uses illustrative data and does not watch a real player. For actual monitoring, install the extension and add a profile.
