A missing toolbar icon does not tell you whether a Roblox extension has been removed. Before installing it again, open chrome://extensions in the same Chrome window where you expected to use it. Look for the extension's name and read any message on its card.

That separates three problems: an extension Chrome still has, one disabled with a stated reason, and one absent from this browser profile. Each needs a different next step. Reinstalling too early can also cost you locally stored settings or history.

If Chrome lists it, check the icon and its status

If the extension is enabled, open the Extensions menu beside Chrome's address bar. Find its name and select the pin control if one is offered. Google explains how to show hidden extension icons. Pinning gives you a visible shortcut; it does not create another installation.

Try opening the extension from that menu. If its popup opens normally, the missing icon was a navigation problem. There is no reason to clear browser data or reset the extension to make the icon stay visible.

If the card is disabled, read the explanation before changing anything. A simple off switch, a corruption warning, and a notice that an extension is unsupported are different states. Chrome provides a Repair action for some corrupted extensions. An unsupported or safety-disabled extension needs attention to the reason Chrome gives; a random download mirror is not a sound repair. The same Google help page explains those controls.

If it is absent, check which Chrome profile you opened

The Roblox account signed into a website and the Chrome profile running the browser are separate identities. Signing into the same Roblox account in another window does not establish that you opened the browser profile where you installed an extension.

Select Chrome's profile picture at the top right. Switch to the profile you normally use, then check chrome://extensions there. Google's profile guide explains this switch and how profiles separate browser information.

For example, suppose your personal Chrome window has RoTrail but your school window does not. That observation points to the installation context. It does not show that Roblox removed the extension or that your watchlist was deleted. Check the original window before creating a fresh setup elsewhere.

Do not delete a Chrome profile as a troubleshooting shortcut. Google warns that removing a profile erases its local browser information. Keep the profile that might still contain the installation while you investigate.

Check the device and installation context

These steps are for desktop Chrome. Google's extension troubleshooting guidance says Chrome extensions cannot be installed on mobile devices, including when the browser is in desktop mode. A phone displaying a desktop-looking website is still not a desktop extension environment.

For a fresh installation, use an ordinary Chrome window. Google also says installation is unavailable in Guest and Incognito modes. Updating Chrome can resolve a version-compatibility problem, but it does not prove that a particular extension supports every Chromium-based browser.

On a work or school device, open chrome://management to see whether Chrome is managed. Administrators can restrict extensions, as Google's managed-browser documentation explains. If an installation is blocked by policy, send the administrator the store listing and the displayed error. Do not change organization policies or use an unofficial copy to get around the block.

If RoTrail opens with an empty watchlist

An empty watchlist in a working popup is a different symptom from a missing extension. First establish whether you are in the original Chrome profile and whether you previously removed the extension or cleared its data.

RoTrail's profile watchlist and monitoring history use local extension storage in the reviewed 1.4.0 implementation. Chrome distinguishes local extension storage from synchronized storage and says local data is cleared when the extension is removed. Signing into a website account should not be treated as proof that a local watchlist has been restored.

If the original installation is still available, record the profiles and settings you need before making a destructive change. Our local-first monitoring guide explains why browser-bound history needs that care. This article cannot promise recovery of data that has already been removed.

If you intentionally changed profiles or devices, recreate RoTrail in the new profile after recording what you need from the original.

If the watchlist is present and the popup works, but alerts are late, move to the extension alert timing checklist. Reinstalling does not diagnose a sleeping device, an unavailable data source, or a suppressed notification.

What to send support

Write down what you actually saw: absent from the extension manager, present but disabled, or enabled with a popup that fails to open. Include the extension version, Chrome version, operating system, exact error message and the last time it worked.

A cropped screenshot of the extension's card is more useful than a screenshot of the entire browser. Keep passwords, session cookies, account keys and unrelated tabs out of the report. RoTrail users can use the support page; users of another extension should use that publisher's support link in its store listing.

If a new installation is necessary after these checks, follow the RoTrail download guide. Start from the verified store destination and review its identity and permissions before installing.
