RoTrail site permissions determine which data services the extension can contact. If the popup says "Roblox access was turned off," check that access before reinstalling or adding the same profile again. The saved watchlist and permission to check it are separate things.
There are also separate choices inside RoTrail for watching profiles and limited items. Turning a feature off hides it and stops its checks without deleting its saved watchlist. It does not revoke the service-host permission already granted in Chrome. Restoring a browser permission alone may leave an intentionally hidden feature switched off.
Identify which part stopped working
Start with the visible symptom. Can you still open RoTrail? Are the profile controls present? Do item values work while profile checks do not? Is the only problem verifying an access key?
The reviewed implementation divides access into three groups:
| Task | Access involved | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Watch a public Roblox profile | Roblox data proxy hosts on roproxy.com and ff-roproxy.com | The profile access request or Watch Roblox profiles in Settings |
| Watch limited-item values | www.rolimons.com | The item access request or Watch limited items in Settings |
| Verify a RoTrail access key | backend.rotrail.net | The Account screen's Verify key action |
The profile group contains several hosts for different categories, including users, avatars, friends, groups and inventory. RoTrail asks for that group together; the current controls do not offer a separate browser-permission switch for each profile category.
The account-service permission serves a different purpose. The Free monitoring workflow does not require access-key verification. Do not approve account-service access merely to repair a profile-data permission, or enable item access when you only want profile checks.
RoTrail's public profile reads go through independent proxy services rather than your signed-in Roblox session. Those operators can receive the requested profile identifier and your network information. The local-first monitoring guide explains why local watchlist storage still involves network requests.
Restore the feature from RoTrail
If RoTrail shows an access request for the feature you want, use its Allow button and review Chrome's prompt. Accept only if the requested service access matches the task you intend to enable. Dismissing the browser prompt leaves access ungranted; it does not complete setup.
If the feature disappeared after you chose to hide it, open Settings > Features. Watch Roblox profiles and Watch limited items are separate switches. Turn on the one you want and respond to Chrome's permission request if it appears. A watchlist hidden by this feature choice is kept locally and should become visible again when that feature is restored in the same installation.
This differs from removing watched entries or deleting extension data. The access controls do not reconstruct a watchlist that was already erased. If you changed computers or browser profiles, first check whether the original installation is still available. The missing-extension guide helps locate it.
The permission prompt follows a deliberate action in the popup. Simply waiting for background checks cannot approve an access request on your behalf. Chrome's optional permissions documentation explains why extensions can ask for feature access when you choose to use it.
Inspect Chrome's site-access settings
In the same Chrome profile, open chrome://extensions, find RoTrail, and choose Details. Check that the extension is enabled, then inspect the site-access controls Chrome provides. Note any explicit restriction or missing grant before changing it.
Chrome allows users to adjust extension site access, but the available controls depend on the extension's declared hosts and browser version. Its extension management guide explains how to review those permissions. Use RoTrail's own feature request to restore the intended group when possible; do not broaden unrelated access as a troubleshooting experiment.
Allowing access only when you select an extension on the current webpage is a different model from an extension contacting data services during scheduled background checks. Clicking RoTrail while a Roblox page is open does not establish that all of its proxy hosts are available for later checks. The important question is whether the required service group has been granted, not whether the current Roblox tab works normally.
There is no need to enable Incognito access for this workflow. Stay in the ordinary Chrome profile where your existing watchlist lives. If a work or school browser displays a policy restriction, record the message and ask the administrator about the permitted installation rather than trying to work around it.
Permission granted, but data still unavailable?
A permission permits a request; it does not guarantee a successful response. The source can be unavailable, rate-limited or unable to return a particular category. A private inventory is another boundary entirely. Giving a browser extension access to a host does not give it access to data Roblox keeps private. See public, hidden and unavailable inventories.
Reopen the popup after restoring access and confirm that the relevant feature is visible. Check that automatic checks are enabled if you expect background monitoring. Then allow a scheduled check while Chrome and the device are available. An old value that remains immediately after approving a prompt does not, by itself, prove the permission failed.
If only one profile category still fails, preserve that detail. A working name check beside an unavailable inventory is more informative than a general report that "Roblox is blocked." The alert delay guide covers successful checks and category failures; repeated permission changes cannot repair an upstream outage.
What to record before contacting support
Include the exact access message, the affected feature, the installed extension and Chrome versions, and what happened when you selected Allow. State whether the Chrome prompt appeared, was accepted or was dismissed. Also note whether the feature's Settings switch is on and whether the problem affects profiles, items or key verification.
A cropped screenshot of the access message is useful. Send it through support without keys, cookies, passwords or unrelated tabs. Keep the existing watchlist in place while investigating. Reinstalling or deleting local data adds a second problem without showing why the first request failed.
